Working Pantry and Walk In Pantry – Kitchen Trends

According to NKBA Kitchen Trends Report, 40% of kitchen designers said their recent kitchen designs have become larger in scope vs previous years, with more designing bigger kitchens with walk-in pantries, working pantries and butler’s pantries.

Designers are filling a need for more storage and organization in the kitchen, and a means for creating a clean, uncluttered entertaining/work/homework area.

Working pantries serve as out-of-eyesight staging areas for food prep and dirty dish storage before a meal, between courses or at the end of a meal. Some working pantries are becoming very large in scale and include an extra dishwasher, refrigerator, wine storage and sink and upper and lower cabinets.

Walk in pantries are perfect for storing large appliances, box-store-size packages of dry and canned goods, and special occasion food prep items and serving dishes.
