Military Family Gifted with New Home

A very deserving Marine family was given the surprise gift of a lifetime this week, a mortgage free home!

U.S. Marine Corporal William Makaafi and his family were selected out of a large group of applicants who are rigorously vetted and chosen for this incredible award. Makaafi served our country as a Marine in Iraq and Afghanistan. His unit suffered many casualties and Makaafi suffered injuries as a result of his deployment.

Operation Finally Home provides wounded, ill and injured Military veterans and first responders across the U.S. with mortgage-free homes and home modifications in honor of their service and sacrifice to country and community.

For the Makaafi family, Operation Finally Home worked with Scott Felder Homes, Tiemann Land and Cattle Development and many trade vendors and local businesses to fund and build a beautiful 2-story home in the Blackhawk neighborhood in Pflugerville, Texas.

Burrows Cabinets is grateful to have been part of the process, donating 100 percent of the cabinets for Makaafi’s home.

 

The family believed they were going to be interviewed as an applicant for a home and was surprised to find out they had already been chosen by Operation Finally Home, and the home would be theirs.

The home is still under construction, allowing the family to see notes of support, appreciation and love placed within the walls.
